Moldovan President demands cheaper bread

President Vladimir Voronin asks to cheapen the bread by 20%, as of February 1, 2009. According to a communique issued by his press service, the President Tuesday convened Premier Zinaida Greceanai, Agriculture Minister Anatolie Gorodenco, and “managers of some companies”, Info-Prim Neo reports. “In the opinion of the head of the state, the ratio of the food price in the consumer basket should be dwindled,” reads the press release. The participants in the reunion have said the low inflation allows for counting on decreasing the prices of basic food stuffs.
