The politicians in Moldova have different opinions about the creation of the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union and they expressed these opinions in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.
Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu criticized the new organization, describing it as a project doomed to failure. The Russian Empire, the Russian Federation and the Soviet Union were based on expansionist elements that took different shapes. The wish to expand and hegemony didn’t allow Russia to think in the same way as the other countries.
Liberal-Democratic MP Valeriu Ghiletski criticized the creation of the Eurasian Union. “A child was born. The delivery was long and difficult. The child suffers from malformations and the heads of state are concerned about certain things. It is rather a dream of the Russian President. It is a dream of Putin built on nostalgia,” he said.
For his part, the secretary general of the Social Democratic Party Sergiu Coropceanu welcomed the foundation of the new organization, saying it will bring benefits to the states involved because it is not a political, but an economic body. “This accord will bring benefits and privileges to the people from the member states. As the presidents of the three states said, the union will help each of these countries to develop economically. It does not affect sovereignty or the freedom to take decisions,” he stated.
In the same program, principal of the Chisinau Lyceum “Vasile Alecsandri” Daniela Vacarciuc noted that she has a negative opinion about the Eurasian Customs Union. “It is an altered dream, of nostalgic persons from the former empire. We were at the top as regards brainwashing in our country. It is Russia’s attempt to take revenge. This union will be managed by Russia, which counts on expansion. In the third millennium, the states must make coalitions in order to keep global peace. The priorities are different,” she stated.
