The voters in Moldova learned to support the parties that have better chances and did not want to believe the small parties owing to the increased intrigue of the elections. This is how political analyst Corneliu Ciurea explains the fact that so many parties did not pass the election threshold. “Many people knew that the Moldova Noastra Alliance for example will not poll the necessary number of votes. This party was affected both by inside processes and outside blows from the election contenders,” the analyst stated for Info-Prim Neo. Asked to assess the performance of civic society in the election campaign, Corneliu Ciurea said the NGOs did their best and stimulated participation in elections. Thus, the turnout of voters was rather high. The election threshold for parties is 4%. The independent candidates and parties that did not enter Parliament won together 8.6% of the poll.
