The Government approved a legislative proposal of a group of MPs that allows for the inclusion of pensioners who live in Moldova, but receive pensions from another state in the national mandatory health insurance system, IPN reports.
Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said the status of medically insured person will be given by the insurer based on an application submitted by the recipient and on confirming documents.
“The goal is to adopt a common approach to all the pensioners given the discrepancy between the categories of pensions provided by other states and the categories of pensions set in the Republic of Moldova in accordance with the law on the public pension system, including as regards the applied age limit standard. Each state assumes responsibility for setting and paying pensions for the insurance period in accordance with the own legislation,” says the informative note to the bill.
