Next week, Moldovan top officials will pay a range of visits abroad.
President of the Republic of Moldova Vladimir Voronin will pay a one-day official visit to Bulgaria on the invitation of the Bulgarian President, Georgi Prvanov.
In the period between January 27 and 31, two parliamentary delegations, headed by Speaker Marian Lupu, will pay official visits to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the French Republic.
The official visit to London will be made on the initiative of the Speaker of the British Parliament’s House of Commons, Michael Martin, and the British Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). In the afternoon of January 28, Marian Lupu and one of the two delegations will visit Paris and will return to Chisinau on Thursday evening, January 31.
On 30-31 January, Moldova’s Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev will visit Kazakhstan. This will be the first official visit of a Moldovan head of government to Kazakhstan.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan will visit Tokyo (January 29-31) to discuss the present relations between Moldova and Japan and the prospects of developing them.
On January 28-30, Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon will visit the Republic of Cyprus on the invitation of the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Cyprus Antonis Michaelides. The two ministers will sign the Convention for Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Tax Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income and Capital Gains.
On January 28-29, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Constantin Mihailescu will participate in the third Regional Implementation Forum on Sustainable Development organised by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. Mihailescu will chair the meetings of the Regional Forum.
