A group of Moldovan MPs are taking part in the parliamentary conference “Implementation of the right to free elections. Challenge of implementing electoral legislation and compliance with standards of the Council of Europe” that is held in Paris on June 4-5. This event is organised within the Framework Programmatic Cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries in cooperation with the National Assembly of France and the Venice Commission, IPN reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, the event brings together representatives of the beneficiary countries of the Eastern Partnership - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine - and of other member countries of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The Moldovan delegation includes Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici, the head of Moldova’s Delegation to the PACE Bogdan Tardea, and Igor Vremea.
The participants in the event will meet with representatives of election administrations, non-governmental organisations involved in election observation as well as with experts from the Venice Commission, other institutions of the Council of Europe and representatives of other international organisations.
