After a publication based in Kyiv accused Moldova of refusing to allow the neighboring country to use the MIG plans staying at the Mărculești airport for tens of years, Dumskaya of Odessa wonder if those who disseminate fake news about this are “fools or provocateurs”, IPN reports.

The publication notes that any aircraft mechanic knows that those plans at the Mărculești airport cannot be revivified to fly. The most that can be done is to disassemble the aircraft to get spare parts, but there is no guarantee that these will be usable.

The source said the jets in Marculesti were repaired in Romania in 2005-2006 and returned home flying, but since then have stayed in the open air without being maintained. Journalists presume the aircraft can continue to be used only as museum exhibits and only a clinical idiot or a paid provocateur can bank on the military value of these.

In this connection, the editorial staff reminds that the small and modest Moldova at the moment hosts and cares for 150,000 Ukrainian refugees without complaining. “The Republic of Moldova almost does not have an army and asking it to offer us fighter jets and nuclear weapons, strategic bombardiers and nuclear submarines with aircraft carriers is an outrageous stupidity. The accusation that the Moldovans do not want ‘to roll out’ the Transnistrian region with tanks is alike as Moldova does not have tanks. Determining whether the author is a fool or a paid provocateur is not worth the effort,” said Dumskaya.
