Moldovan Judokas suffered defeats in the opening of the European Championship in Turkey, on Thursday, April 21, Info-Prim Neo reports. The best Judoka of 2010, Victor Scvortos was narrowly beaten by Slovenia’s Rok Drasic. Igor Soroc was defeated in the same weight category- 66kg. Artiom Nacu was eliminated by Dutch Jeroen Mooren in the 60 kg category. In women’s contest, Tatiana Osoianu (48 kg) lost to Turkey’s Akkus Sumeyye. Moldova has 7 more Judokas that will try to defend its colors. Overall, there are about 450 sportsmen from 45 countries participating in the European Championship.
