Moldovan hurt in accident in Poland

A Moldovan citizen was slightly injured in a train crash that happened near the Polish town Szczekociny last weekend. Moldova’s Ambassador to Poland Iurie Bodrug has told Info-Prim Neo that Anatolie Gorshchov needed medical care, but refused to be hospitalized. The ambassador said that 14 of the 16 persons killed in the accident have been identified. All of them are citizens of Poland. Prime Minister Vlad Filat sent a letter of condolence to his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk. “I express my condolences and the felling of solidarity of our people who are near the grieving Polish families. God rest those who died and give courage and hope to those who were injured so that they heal and to recover as soon as possible,” reads the letter. The railroad accident occurred at about 21.15 on March 3. Two passenger trains collided near Szczekociny. One of the trains traveled from Przemysl to Warsaw, while the other one from Warsaw to Krakow. The second train was on the wrong railroad. According to official reports, the accident resulted in 16 deaths and 60 persons hurt, some of whom foreigners.
