Moldovan Government welcomes European Parliament's appraisal

The Government of Moldova appreciates the European Parliament's October 21 resolution on the situation and reforms implemented in Moldova. “The recognition by the European legislature of the progress made by Moldova over the last year confirms again that the Alliance for European Integration managed in a short period of time to launch reforms that open the country's way to the European Union, honoring thus the assumed obligations,” says a communique from the Government's press service, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The communique also says that the support provided by the European Parliament is very important for Moldova, especially for the continuation of the talks on the Association Agreement with the EU, obtaining the road map for liberalizing the visa regime, opening of negotiations on the creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area. The executive says it is aware that the results achieved in these areas will represent a real contribution towards building confidence between the two banks of the Nistru River and will foster the process of peacefully resolving the Transnistrian dispute. The Government of Moldova remains committed to continuing implementing democratic reforms, ensuring political stability and economic prosperity, and promoting Moldova's European integration.
