The fresh Moldovan fruit and vegetables will be sold under a new logo of the brand MOLDOVA, with the slogan: “A special taste”. Aurel Stratan, specialist in communication of the Agriculture Competitiveness and Enterprise Development Project (ACED), who designed the logo, said the logo hasn’t been yet registered as it is tested to see the consumers’ reaction, Info-Prim Neo reports. Initially, the logo was designed for the joint participation of Moldovan agricultural producers in the international specialized exhibition “World Food Moscow”. The goal was to promote the country’s image as a regional fruit and vegetable producer and to make the national pavilion look more modern. Aurel Stratan said the logo was appreciated by the public, business community and representatives of the Government. It has been used at three exhibits already, two in Russia and one in Moldova, and the ACED team is preparing to present it in the West, at the exhibition “Fruit Logistica 2013” that will take place in Berlin in February. The ACED is now drafting the regulations concerning the use of the logo. There will be held working meetings to decide who will be the logo’s owner and how it will be used. Putting it on the label or the product will be free, but it can be used only if the minimum quality standards are met. There are no administrative restrictions on the use of the logo if the products meet the quality standards, form part of the category of products included in the future utilization guide and are packed appropriately. Aurel Stratan said the new logo does not substitute the Moldovan trademarks existing in the agrifood industry and does not represent a symbol of a certain product, region or company. It is designed to support the marketing efforts of the Moldovan producers and exporters of fresh fruit and vegetables, including apples, grapes, peaches, plums, walnuts tomatoes, etc. The ACED Project is financed by the U.S. Government through the United States Agency for International Development and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
