It seems it has become a tradition lately for the Moldovan footballers playing abroad to see red cards for crude interventions and unfair play.
Anji Mahachkala's Moldovan midfielder Nicolai Josan was sent off in a Russian second league match against Sibir on Sunday, following a series of fouls against the rivals. This is the second red card seen by Josan in the current season.
Iurie Osipenco suffered a similar situation in the Kazakhstani championship, yet, before he was red-carded for arguing with the referee, the Moldovan player managed to score from a penalty kick.
The only Moldovan player to score in the Russian championship this weekend and finish the game on the pitch was Alania Vladikavkaz's forward Sergiu Dadu, who transformed two penalty kicks into a victory over Dinamo Barnaul.
Whereas Moldovans Radu Rebeja, Dumitru Dolgov and Stepan Sicaci didn't get to play at all in the Russian Premier League's Round 23, Stanislav Ivanov, Alexandru Epureanu and Viorel Frunza appeared on the field for several minutes.
