Moldovan Film Days to take place next week in Bucharest

The Moldovan Film Days will take place between August 27 and 29 at the Romanian Peasant Museum in Bucharest. The event marks the 30th anniversary of the declaration of Moldovan independence and 30 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Romania being the first country in the world to recognize Moldova's independence in 1991.

According to a National Cinematography Centre of Moldova press release, the Moldovan film days festival presents Moldovan films made over the course of the last two decades. Some of these films have never been shown in Romanian cinemas before. The films screened at the Peasant Museum Cinema on this occasion are movies made by the young generation of Moldovan filmmakers, who have created a distinctive voice within the European cinema.

On Friday, August 27, the movie Anișoara, directed by Anaei-Felicia Scutelnicu, will be screened at 18:00, while Pași pe graniță (Steps on the Border) by Alecu Deleu will be screened at 20:45.

On Saturday, August 28, the movie Goodbye, Olegovici!, directed by Eugeniu Popovici, will start at 17:30. Please hold the line / Așteptați răspunsul operatorului, directed by Pavel Cuzuioc, will be displayed at 20:00.

On August 29, on Sunday, starting at 15:00, three movies directed by Valeriu Andriuță will be screened: Eu sunt Dorin, Salix Caprea and Chers Amis. Multiple screenings will be displayed after 17:30 - Of by Vlad Bolgarin, Wings by Dmitry Voloshin, Dj Series. Death by Dmitri Voloșin, Colecția de arome (Collection of flavors) by Igor Cobileanski, Mamu by Mihail Rezuneț, Today artist, tonight taxist by Dumitru Grosei and Shoes for Europe by Pavel Braila. The movie Memoria, directed by Maxim Chisnicean, will be screened at 20:45.

The event is organized at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Romania, in partnership with CNC MOLDOVA, the Romanian Peasant Museum, the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Association of Creative Industries of Moldova and Clubul Țăranului - La Mama.
