A Moldovan perished in a road accident on the Șumen-Karnobat highway in Bulgaria. He was driving a truck registered in the Republic of Moldova, which collided head-on with another truck. As a result of the impact, the trucks caught fire, IPN reports.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Sofia asked for information about the circumstances of the accident from the regional internal affairs divisions. The local authorities, through the agency of the Burgas regional division of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Bulgaria, informed our diplomatic mission that the truck driver, a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, has mdied,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Sofia will offer the consular assistance needed for repatriating the body.
The Bulgarian press reported that the second driver, who is a citizen of Bulgaria, didn’t suffer injuries as he managed to get out of the burning cab.
