Moldovan doctors trained to implement 'national clinical protocols'

Moldovan doctors from the entire country learn to use the so-called 'national clinical protocols'. From February 10 to 13, seminars are held in different zones of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Health Ministry. The seminars take place in Chisinau – for the central zone, in Balti – for the northern zone, in Cahul and Comrat – for the south. The training is part of the Action Program regarding the implementation of the Country Threshold Program (CTP) of Moldova. The clinical protocols are a standardization of medical treatment and assistance provided to patients, enabling the physician to quickly, correctly and efficiently choose the treatment tactics for each patient, easing making decisions in different difficult clinical cases. The protocols serve as guides to buy medicines and medical equipment. They also establish standards of 'accepted medical practice' define the performance expectations of medical services providers. 55 national clinical protocols have been adopted so far, as a new series are being developed. Through the CTP, the Moldovan Government continued to continue, by the support of the US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), the reform pursuing to curb corruption in five sectors: strengthening the judiciary's capacity in preventing and fighting corruption, strengthening the monitoring capacity of the civil society and media, preventing and fighting corruption in healthcare, tax management, customs and police, reforming and improving the ECCCC's work.
