The Moldovans who live in the USA, or simply study there, insist on the modernization of Moldova’s institutions, and are willing to contribute to the democratic transformation processes in every way possible. The statements were made by the representatives of the Moldovan diaspora, at the meeting with President Nicolae Timofti, who is on an official visit to the United States, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to a communiqué from the President's Office, Nicolae Timofti informed the representatives of the diaspora in New York about the current development projects in Moldova, including the efforts to advance on the Euro-integration path. Nicolae Timofti express his hope that our country’s political and economic changes will motivate the Moldovans residing abroad to consider the possibility of return to their homeland. During his visit to the USA, the President had a meeting with his Czech counterpart, Vaclav Klaus, at the UN headquarters in New York, where the 67th session of the UN General Assembly takes place. The Czech President expressed his conviction that Moldova will successfully take advantage of all the opportunities offered by the Eastern Partnership, and that it will keep its lead position on this platform of cooperation with the EU. Nicolae Timofti also met with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski. The two Presidents noted the prospects of developing bilateral relations, and talked about Moldova’s European integration process. Bronislaw Komorowski stated that Moldova’s political stability is important for continuing the country’s democratic processes. President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti participated at the 67th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, which took place between September 24 and 26 in New York.
