Moldovan company „Lascont” to renovate the Northern Bus Station

Moldovan company „Lascont” will renovate the Northern Bus Station, as a winner of a tender held last week, at which other two construction firms participated. The current week, together with signing the contract for executing the works, there will begin the work of re-positioning and renovation of engineering networks and access roads. “Lascont” company has made the designing for the North Bus Station. Until now, the territory was cleaned of rubbish, works of geodesy were made and unauthorized construction demolished. The project constitutes circa 95 million lei, which will be disbursed by the state budget, and will finish in the next two years. The counselor of the interim mayor of Chisinau, Tudor Garbu, has declared for Info-Prim Neo that in the first stage, until the end of this year, there will be built access roads, engineering networks and the foundation of the North Bus Station, the main construction beginning in the next year. The building works made until now on the territory of the North Station were made within the project of the Ministry of Transport and Road Maintenance. Garbu says that the current temporary ticket counters will be also demolished. The new project of the North Station building foresees space for commercial banks, centers for economic agents, booking offices, administrative offices and waiting rooms etc. The central and local authorities anticipate that after the end of the renovation, the Northern Station could be renamed into Chisinau Bus Station, since this station could undertake all routes from the actual Central Station.
