Moldovan Championship of Artistic Gymnastics begins in Chisinau

The best gymnasts from Chisinau and Bender will compete in the Moldovan Championship of Artistic Gymnastics that kicked off on Saturday, March 10, Info-Prim Neo reports. Principal referee Natalia Potgoinaia said that the tournament gathered together 50 athletes in three age categories: 10-12 years, 13-15 and above 16 years. On Saturday, they will participate in the circle and ball exercises. Sunday will continue with club and ribbon exercises. The best gymnasts will receive diplomas, medals and money prizes. The lead coach of the national artistic gymnastics team Maia Nicolaeva said that three athletes would be selected to represent Moldova and the European Championship for juniors, which will take place at the end of May in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. The Moldovan Championship of Artistic Gymnastics takes place on March 10 and 11 in the sports venue Speranta.
