Moldovan badminton players have already won a pair of gold medals and are looking to net another pair at the CIS Games hosted by Chisinau during September 25-28, Info-Prim Neo reports. The duo Maxim Karpenco and Alexandru Apostolin gained their first spot on the podium in the age category up to 35 years after a row of three victories in two competition days. National badminton team coach Alexandr Koshel believes that the favorites for the women’s double (to 35 years) are the Moldovan pair Antonia Koshel and Nadejda Litvinenco, who will play Ukraine’s Valentina Bondarenko and Svetlana Levandovskaia in the final on Friday, September 26. Koshel went on to point out the exceptional performance of the Belarus male double Vitaly Shnakov and Mikhail Korshuk, who remain unbeatable up to this moment. Both men’s and women’s finals will be held on Friday, after which the awards ceremony will follow.
