According to the head of the Moldovan diplomacy, the authorities regret the occurrence of the incident and the political nature it has been ascribed, given that it has been treated as Moldova’s attitude towards the citizens of Romania, which is not true. Statan asserted that during the weekend, Moldova allowed in some 3,000 Romanian citizens. On October 12, three Romanian delegations heading for Chisinau to take part in the City Day celebrations were stopped by the Moldovan border officers and returned home.
