The Moldovan authorities are unable to reply to the pressure exerted by Russia, the leader of the Green Ecologist Party Anatolie Prohnitski said in the program “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.
Prohnitski accused the Moldovan authorities of not reacting to the bans imposed by Russia. “Chisinau must ask the international organizations to help stop these restrictions and intimidation acts. Moldova should sue the Russian Government, but our authorities keep silent. We sought help from no one and are waiting for somebody to direct us or to ask us to intervene for us,” he stated.
Another accusation made by the leader of the Green Ecologist Party is that the authorities did nothing to remedy the ecological situation. “Nothing was done to solve the ecological problems. On the contrary, by the taken measures they worsened the situation even more. An example is the extraction of sand from the Nistru River,” stated Prohnitski.
He noted that the party he heads wants to enter Parliament in order to be able to deal with the problems related to the environment. “We intend to implement the ‘green economy’ in Moldova, whose benefits are double: it ensures real protection of the environment and is advantageous from economic viewpoint,” he said.
