The Coordinating Committee for ensuring interaction between the 112 Service and Specialized Emergency Services is discussing the feasibility of implementing the eCall system in Moldova as well. eCall, which is now mandatory in all new cars sold in the European Union, is an emergency calling system designed to bring rapid assistance to motorists involved in a collision.
“We need to develop and provide the 112 Service with complex technologies and systems, because that will allow for more efficiency and mobility for the teams. The life of every citizen is extremely important. We will work to implement the systems of the European countries to be used in Moldova as well,” said Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Chiril Gaburici at a meeting that he chaired.
Another issue discussed was the opportunity of equipping response teams with mobile data terminals, which will automate and thus facilitate case conveyance from 112 dispatchers to responders. This is expected to reduce response times, minimize communication errors and improve records management.
