Athlete Alexei Kravchenko failed a dope test. The International Athletics Federation suspended him for two years for using Stanazolol, IPN reports.
The test was taken after the Zurich European Athletics Championship of this August, where Kravchenko competed in the 400-meter hurdles. The suspension period expires on August 26, 2016. Thus, the Moldovan athlete will be unable to take part in the Olympic Games of Rio de Janeiro.
“Kravchenko is from the Transition region and is not under our direct control,” the president of the Moldovan Athletics Federation Anatolie Balan told the journalists.
Alexei Kravchenko is the fourth Moldovan athlete caught taking dope over the last two years. The other three are Zalina Marghiev, Marina Marghiev, and Natalia Artic.
