Moldovan and Ukrainian Prime Ministers discussed on railway transportation and elimination of economic barriers

On November 24, PM Vasile Tarlev participated in the meeting of the Council of the Heads of Governments of the CIS member-states, in Minsk, Belarus. On this occasion, Tarlev discussed with Victor Ianucovici about the possibility of identifying some optimal solutions for problems of bilateral cooperation and especially, in what concerns the normal functioning of railway transportation and elimination of trade and economic related barriers between the two states, a press release of the Government reports, cited by Info-Prim Neo.
The two officials agreed upon organizing a meeting between vice prime ministers in order to settle the existent problems in due time.
Within the frameworks of the Minsk Council, the PM expressed his worries about the fact that the most efficient mechanism of exchanging goods on the territory of CIS, which was made via railway, is now out of function. The PM pleaded for re-launching the normal activity of this structure.
The Premiere emphasized that all heads of governments supported the opinion that a free economic area in the Commonwealth and an efficient collaboration in the energetic and transportation fields would lead to CIS’s development.
Prime ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine participated in the works of CIS Council of the Heads of Governments. Georgia and Uzbekistan has been represented by deputy prime ministers and Turkmenistan by an ambassador.
