The Moldovan and Italian authorities discuss the necessity of creating a databank including persons that are looking for a job and intend to leave for Italy.
The consolidation of the intergovernmental dialogue in an attempt to regulate the endless inflow of Moldovan citizens to Italy was the topic for discussions that took place Friday, December 15, between vice minister of Economy and Commerce, Sergiu Sainciuc, and director general for Immigration of the Italian Ministry for Social Solidarity, Giuseppe Maurizio Silveri.
In this context, it was stressed upon the need for legalizing the Moldovan citizens, who went to work to Italy, and their return to the country when the work contract expires. The sides also agreed on the possibility of professionally training Moldovan citizens with the support of the Italian partners which will employ them later at the enterprises opened by the Italian investors in Moldova.
Items related to the regulation of emigrational process, level of migration in 2007 and management of labour-related migration have been brought up for discussions during the meeting.
