Moldovan-American and Moldovan-Russian consultations on the same day

Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Stratan had meetings with the heads of the Embassies of the United States and Russia on August 28, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Foreign Ministry’s press service. During the meeting with the U.S. Charge d’Affaires Kelly Keiderling, the interlocutors conferred on the Transnistrian dispute. It was stressed that the only solution to the conflict can be identified at the talks in the 5+2 format. In another development, Kelly Keiderling reiterated the readiness of the U.S. Government to work out new bilateral cooperation projects and to assist Moldova in the reform process and in the European integration process. At the other meeting, Andrei Stratan and Russian Ambassador Valery Kuzmin discussed different problems concerning the present state and prospects of developing the Moldovan-Russian bilateral relations. The situation in South Caucasus was a separate subject of the discussion.
