The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration is organizing the convention of Moldovan ambassadors on August 18-19 in Chisinau.
The convention is an occasion to discuss foreign policy implementation, set new tasks and priorities in the short and medium term, assess the activity of diplomatic missions and discuss how their efficiency can be improved. Also, the ambassadors will discuss the next steps to be taken to advance Moldova’s bid for EU membership, including the recommendations proposed by the European Commission.
Another priority is the diaspora and the issues it faces, including ways to offer social protection to Moldovan citizens temporarily working abroad.
The agenda also includes meetings with President Maia Sandu, Speaker Igor Grosu and other high-ranking officials.
Attending the event as special guests via video conference will be Romania’s Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, and Helene Dantoine, department head and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
