Moldova's Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Lilian Darii, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The diplomat was asked to explain why President Maia Sandu has not yet accepted the credentials of the Russian ambassador to Chisinau, Oleg Ozerov, who is coming to Moldova in October 2024.

The Moldovan ambassador has received the text of the Vienna Convention and a note verbale, asking for an explanation of the reasons for the Moldovan side's violation of its provisions regarding the uniformity of the practice applied in relation to the heads of diplomatic missions and the order in which they present their credentials.

The authorities in Chisinau have not yet reacted to the Russian foreign ministry's statements, IPN reports.
