Moldovagaz signed the agreement to lend 3 million cubic meters of natural gas with Tiraspoltransgaz, said the acting CEO of Moldovagaz Vadim Ceban, quoted by IPN.
According to Ceban, the supplies will be ensured depending on the requests received from Tiraspoltransgaz.
The volume of gas borrowed is to be given back by March 1 this year.
The European Commission on Monday proposed an emergency assistance package worth €30 million as a first step to support the Republic of Moldova in solving the serious energy crisis caused by Gazprom. Through this package, the EU is ready to finance the purchase and transport of natural gas to the Transnistrian region.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that 3 million cubic meters of natural gas can be delivered to the Transnistrian region based on a lending agreement. The agreement will be guaranteed by the European Union.
