Natural gas charges could be lowered. Moldovagaz requested the National Agency for Energy Regulation to decrease the charge for household consumers to 12.2 lei per cubic meter of gas, which is a decrease of 8.9%, IPN reports.

According to the draft calculations submitted to the Agency, the weighted average cost for the supply of natural gas is proposed to be reduced to 10,095 lei per thousand cubic meters or by 9.3%.

At the exit points from the high-pressure gas distribution networks, it is proposed to set the charge of 7,915 lei per thousand cubic meters, 13.3% down. At the exit points from the medium-pressure gas networks, the proposed charge is 8.917 lei per thousand cubic meters, by 11.5% less than at present. In the case of low-pressure gas networks, to which the household consumers and part of non-household consumers are connected, the proposed charge is 12,200 lei per thousand cubic meters, with a decrease of 8.9%.

Natural gas charges were decreased the last time on February 21. Then, the National Agency for Energy Regulation approved a charge of 13.39 lei (excluding VAT) for one cubic meter of gas for household consumers. Earlier, the charge was 18 lei.
