The holding of the second European Political Community Summit in the Republic of Moldova is a powerful symbol of a continent standing with it, said leaders of EU institutions, as the organizers informed on the EPC Summit’s official website.
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said the European Union stands by Moldova’s side. “We support you energy security. Your economic stability. We support your reforms, on your way to our European family. Moldova is not alone. The EU is with you,” stated the European official.
Charles Michael, President of the European Council, stated that on June 1, Moldova will be the beating heart of Europe and will open its doors to 50 European leaders, 50 friends of Moldova. This is a historic moment for the Republic of Moldova and its people. “It is a powerful symbol of your path towards the EU family. Moldova, you are among friends. Moldova, you are not alone!” said Charles Michael.
President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola said the European Union stands by the Republic of Moldova. It stands by the country’s administration and its citizens. It supports the pro-European choice. “The Moldovans can be proud of the courage they showed by defying Russia’s intimidation. They can be proud of the solidary with Ukraine. The European Parliament will always be a real friend for Moldova, an ally. Because we do not have any doubt – our future is together. Moldova is not alone!” stated the European official.
The European Political Community Summit of June 1 is expected to involve 47 heads of state and government and the leaders of EU institutions.
