Paulina Țurcan has won a gold medal at the Cadet European Judo Cup that was held in Fuengirola, Spain, IPN reports.
In the 40 kg weigh class, she scored three victories. Paulina beat Noelia Barrero of Spain, Alina Lazareva of Russia and Sana Sabri of France.
Oxana Diacenco won bronze in the +70 kg class. After winning two victories, in the semifinals she lost to Russia’s Aleksandra Zagirova, but in the match for the bronze medal beat Christi-Rose Pretorius of Zimbabwe.
In the men’s competition, the best results were achieved by Andrian Veste and Cătălin Ermuraki. They both ranked fifth.
