The Moldovan canonists have won two gold medals at the Olympic Hopes competition in Slovakia. Mihai Kulchak emerged victorious both in the singles and in the doubles, IPN reports.

In the singles, he won gold in the 1,000 m race. In the doubles, he triumphed alongside Stanislav Banaru. Mihai Kulchak, 17, is from Bălți.

Two more Moldovan athletes competed in 2022 Olympic Hopes in Slovakia. In the 1,000 m race, Valentina Sandu ranked 12th, while Cezar Amari finished ninth.
