Moldova wins two ADAMI prizes and scholarship

The Republic of Moldova won two prizes and a scholarship of the seven prizes and three scholarships provided within the ADAMI Media Prize for Cultural Diversity in Eastern Europe competition. The prizes were awarded in the evening of November 29 for achievements in cinematography, television and online media, IPN reports.

The Republic of Moldova won the prize for the best documentary (nonfiction) - the short film “Big Theater of Soroca” made by young director Eugeniu Popovici. Moldova was also conferred the prize for entertainment, for Valeriu Andriuță’s short-film “Chers Amis”.

The prize for news and short nonfictions went to Georgia, the online prize for web pages to Ukraine, while the prize for web videos also to Georgia. The young ADAMI Media prize was won by Belarus. Specula mentions were awarded to films made in Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia.

An ADAMI scholarship was awarded to Ana Glushko from Moldova, a Prime TV reporter. Two female journalists from Ukraine also won scholarships. The winners will go to Germany for a period of four weeks to familiarize themselves with the news making process at TV channels.

The ADAMI Media Prize competition involved 300 contenders. There were designated 21 nominations and only ten of these became winners. The ADAMI Media Prize is the biggest media award for cultural diversity in the region. It was instituted by the German Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Pro Credit Holding of Germany.
