Moldova wins 10 medals at World Karate Championships

Five Moldovan athletes won ten medals at the World Karate Shotokan Championships in Greece. Among seniors, the leader of the national squad Vitalie Spînu won two gold medals in kumite individual sandon shobu +80 kg and Open and a bronze medal in ippon shobu +80 kg, IPN reports.

Anastasia Spînu obtained gold at kumite individual Open and silver at kumite individual sanbon shobu 58 kg, while Xenia Schiba won a bronze medal at kumite individual ippon shobu 58 kg.

Xenia Schiba won two silver medals in kumite individual ippon shobu and sanbon shobu 58 kg. Also in the youth category, Daniel Mutelica obtained silver at kumite individual ippon shobu 70 kg, while Maxim Guțu got silver in the same event, but in the 78 kg weight class.
