Moldova beat Turkey 5-3 in the final of the Euro Beach Soccer League, Division B, on July 31, reaching for the first time Division A – the beach soccer elite in Europe, IPN reports.
Moldova captain Cojocari and keeper Istrati won the MVP and Best Goalkeeper trophies, while the Top Scorer went to Katsoulis from Greece, who scored eight goals.
Moldova will play in the EBSL Division A next year, and will also be heading to Poland for the European Games.
During five days, the arena in the Chisinau park “La Izvor” hosted 30 matches in which 212 goals were scored. The Euro Beach Soccer League Moldova 2022 involved 12 European teams and 133 players.
