Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, emphasized the Republic of Moldova’s interest in strengthening the commercial-economic and investment relations with companies that are members of the American-Central European Business Association. In a meeting with representatives of ACEBA in Washington, the official underlined the necessity of realizing the existing cooperation potential, IPN reports, with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
“Renewable energy, information technology and fintech are just some of the sectors in which we can realize the cooperation potential. Our Government is fully committed to improve the investment climate so as to turn this openness into real projects that will contribute to the development of our economy and will create new jobs,” stated Nicu Popescu.
Among the members of the American-Central European Business Association are such companies as Motorola Solutions, Citi, Exxon Mobil, IBM, Pfizer, Philip Morris International, Pharma, Thermo Fisher, and Visa.
The visit to the U.S. marks the holding of the thematic joint working groups within the Strategic Dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the United States organized on the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Moldova-U.S. diplomatic relations.
