By the end of this year, Moldova will fulfill all the commitments made to the EU by implementing the action plan on visa liberalization, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said when asked if the visa regime will be liberalized by this yearend, Info-Prim Neo regime. In the program “In Profunzime” on Pro TV channel, Vlad Filat said that Moldova respects the agreements reached with the European partners and the terms for implementing reforms. “We cannot tell the European Union when a final decision should be taken. But we will do our homework for 2012,” said the Premier. He also said that Moldova lags behind in implementing the action plan on visa liberalization, namely as regards the reform of the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime and the adoption of the Antidiscrimination Law. According to Vlad Filat, there have been many speculations about the Antidiscrimination Bill. The bill does not refer only to the rights of the persons with nontraditional sexual orientation, but also to a series of important guarantees for all the country’s people. “I’ve got the impression that somebody wants to keep Moldova in the current state of isolation so that the people could not move freely and we could not sign the Association Agreement and move to a new qualitatively new stage in the relations with the EU. Thus, they make use of all these speculations,“ said the Premier. He stressed that the Antidiscrimination Bill was withdrawn from Parliament because they did not want this bill to serve as an argument in the campaign that preceded the local elections. “As to the Association Agreement, I want to say that during ten rounds of talks we finished discussions on 23 of the 25 chapters. The other two chapters refer to the Free Trade Agreement that is to be concluded by September 2013. There hadn’t been such accomplishments in the history of the EU,” said Vlad Filat, adding that the European integration process is a very efficient instrument in the process of settling the Transnistrian dispute and an attraction for those who live in Transnistria.
