Moldova is to complete the talks on the Association Agreement and the Agreement on the Creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU and the implementation of the second phase of the Visa Liberalization Plan by the summer of 2013. These are three tasks included in the European integration agenda that were mentioned in the debates of the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and European integration, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy Minister of Foreign Policy and European Integration Natalia Gherman said the three priorities are to be dealt with by next summer. Afterward, the European Commission will analyze the achieved results and, at the Eastern Partnership Summit of November 2013, will recommend the European Council and the European Parliament to switch to the next stage of the Moldova-EU relations. Natalia Gherman said that Moldova obeys the planned pace of the talks. She stressed that the authorities should consider the normative documents concerning the stages of the European course a priority and should lay emphasis on the monitoring of the implementation of the package of laws adopted until now. The deputy minister also said the discussions on most of the chapters of the draft agreement were completed during the 12th round of talks on the Association Agreement that was held in September. That round was a successful one for Moldova. The next one will take place in Brussels in November. There will be discussed such chapters as justice, freedom and security, general provisions and the preamble of the agreement. Natalia Gherman said that this year Moldova has been visited by a number of important European officials, including European commissioners, the heads of the most important groups of the European Parliament, and the vice president of the European Investment Bank. The President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso is expected to come to Chisinau by the end of this year. This visit, according to the deputy minister, is a natural continuation of the European agenda and dialogue established between Moldova and the European institutions.
