Moldova will cooperate with Europol

Parliament ratified the strategic cooperation agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Law Enforcement Organisation (Europol). The agreement aims to enhance cooperation to fight serious forms of international crime including among others, drug trafficking, money laundering and illegal immigration. The agreement between the two parties makes it possible to exchange strategic and technical information and to participate in seminars and training. The cooperation will be carried out through Moldova’s National Contact Point. If the parties agree to intensify cooperation by signing an operational agreement, there will be additionally designated one or two liaison officers. The strategic cooperation agreement was signed in Hague on February 12, 2007.
