The Republic of Moldova during the next years will be governed by coalitions, the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) said in PRO TV Chisinau's program “In Profunzime” (“In Depth”) on June 7. They announced they will decide how to run in elections, together or separately, after each of the four parties do a political calculation, Info-Prim Neo reports.. Serafim Urecheanu, Deputy Speaker of Parliament and the leader of the Moldovan Noastra Alliance, said the risk will be avoided if the Alliance runs together in elections. However, the leaders of the AEI should wait to see what offers the political opponents will make, especially the Communists Party (PCRM). “We will make an analysis to see what results can be achieved in different formulas. If we had participated in the July 29, 2009 elections as a block, the result would have been worse as each of our parties has its own supporters,” said Prime Minister Vlad Filat, the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party. Marian Lupu, the head of the Democratic Party, said the Alliance will take a final decision after a series of discussions. “The work within an alliance gives both advantages and disadvantages. The differences put us on different electoral segments. We will decide after we do a political calculation,” Marian Lupu said. Head of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu, the leader of the Liberal Party, expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that his colleagues from the coalition make contradictory statements, even when they criticize the work of the Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, who is the deputy head of the Liberal Party. “If things go on like this, the Liberal Party will adopt a strategy and we will agree to discuss only after we count our seats,” Mihai Ghimpu said.
