The transformation of the current peacekeeping mission into an International Military and Civil Observers Mission, as well as the demilitarization of the Transnistrian region according to commitments taken by Russian Federation (RF) at OSCE Summit in Istanbul, are vital needs for solving the existent problems in the Security Zone, especially around the village Dorotcaia. The Permanent Delegation of Moldova at OSCE made this announcement, which informed the Permanent Council of the Organization about the implementation of the provisions of the Joint Declaration of Prime Ministers of Moldova and Ukraine from the 30th of December 2005, regarding the introduction of the customs regime at Moldovan-Ukrainian border. In this context, the delegation members denounced the propaganda of the regime from Tiraspol on the so-called “humanitarian crisis” and “humanitarian assistance” provided by Russian Federation, mentioning as well the tendentious interpretation of certain groups from the RF upon the situation of the Transnistrian region and interdictions imposed by Russia on Moldovan wine imports. According to a report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Moldovan delegation expressed its disapproval related to the postponement by separatist regime from Tiraspol of the negotiation round in the “5+2” format and its leader’s intention to organize a referendum regarding region’s independence.
