The Republic of Moldova queues up to purchase the vaccine against COVID-19, alongside the other countries, said the head of the National Public Health Agency Nicolae Furtună, who noted that no country started to immunize the population against COVID-19 as there is no finalized vaccine for human use, IPN reports.

“We recently had discussions on the platform “Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization”. Discussions were held so that when a safe, prequalified vaccine appears, this could be used for the risk groups in the Republic of Moldova,” Nicolae Furtună stated in a news conference staged by the Ministry of Health.

Epidemiologist of the National Public Health Agency Alexei Ceban presented the epidemiological situation concerning the control of the infection in Moldova. The total number of cases confirmed in Moldova exceeds 27,600. 70% of the infected persons got cured. Over 26% are active cases. The death toll from COVID-19 stands at 845. As many as 442 patients are in a serious state.
