The Party “Moldova Unita” (“United Moldova”) headed by Vladimir Turcan decided to join the team of the Party of Socialists led by Igor Dodon, says a joint statement of the two parties. According to it, the united team will become the most influential left-wing political force in the near future, Info-Prim Neo reports. The statement also says that the country’s population now has more definite left-leaning geopolitical, economic and social preferences. That’s why the political left must be ready to present a proper political offer so as to be able to take over the power in the next parliamentary elections. Igor Dodon and Vladimir Turcan say that the Communist Party (PCRM) is no longer the original party as its administration was monopolized by extremists and a tired leader who cannot control his acts and speech. “We don’t believe that the PCRM can be cured. This party will fall apart and will become a political ghost,” reads the joint statement. “Other left-wing parties only started to grow. Thus, we consider that it is our duty, as politicians and former statesmen, to contribute to the strengthening of the left-wing forces in the Republic of Moldova. We lately followed attentively the development of the left-wing political forces and their degree of political maturity and decided to join forces.” The leaders of the two parties promised to provide more details in a press briefing the next days.
