Before the friendly against Cyprus, the coach of the national Under-21 football team had to summon players on the last 100 meters after four footballers of Petrocub returned to their club team, IPN reports.
“I think only the players suffered because of this. They should have informed us beforehand that they cannot come to the national team. We have a difficult match and needed them. The players would have been concentrated on the match and such problems wouldn’t have appeared,” Moldova U21 coach Danut Oprea told a news conference.
Tascul and Gheiceanu were invited instead of Urvantsev, Svinarenko and the Makritski brothers.
The match against Cyprus is played at the Zimbru stadium in the evening of August 9, starting at 7pm. The friendly is a test before the August 31 encounter with Croatia, of the qualifying competition of the 2019 European Championship.
