The national Under-21 football team of Moldova played the second match of the qualifying rounds of the 2019 UEFA European Championship. After the victory won against San Marino away, Moldova lost at home to Croatia, IPN reports.

The guests won by 3-0, with the goals being scored by Coric (4th minute) and Brekalo (43rd, 61st). The Croatian team also hit the bar two times, while Alexandru Boiciuc was among the Moldovan players who missed most of the chances to score.

“Croatia has technical players who know to control the ball. But the goals were scored after we made mistakes,” Moldova U21 team coach Danut Oprea told a news conference.

On September 4, Moldova meets Greece away.
