The national Under-19 football team of Moldova suffered a 0-5 defeat against Iran in the last match of the group at the international competition “Valentin Granatkin” that is held in Saint Petersburg, IPN reports.
The goals were scored by Younes Delfi (32th, 65th, 81st minutes), Mohammad Ghaderi (60th) and Mohammad Reza Ghobeishavi (83rd). Earlier, Moldova tied with Slovenia 0-0 and lost to the team of Saint Petersburg 0-3.
“The memorial “Valentin Granatkin” enables our players to get a rich experience. The competition involves powerful teams. We have yet a lot to work,” said Moldova Under-19 manager Oleg Fistican.
Moldova ranks fourth in the group and will compete for the 9th-16th places in the mini-tournament. On January 15, it plays against Lithuania.
