Moldova to receive support from Poland in trade

Poland is ready to provide assistance to Moldova in negotiating the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU at expert level and at policy level, Polish Deputy Minister of Economy Ilona Antiniszyn Klik said in a meeting with Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar on December 4, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Economy, Ilona Antiniszyn Klik said the Polish businessmen are interested in extending their businesses in Moldova, including with loans from Polish banks. The Polish companies are interested especially in agriculture and in the processing of agricultural products. Ilona Antiniszyn Klik suggested promoting Southeastern Europe at specialized exhibitions in Asia, Africa and South America, where the region may be presented as a market with about 200 million consumers. Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said that Poland’s experience is of a great importance to Moldova, which is now in a process of profound changes. Poland went through such a stage 10-15 years ago. Over the last three years, Moldova adopted about 100 economic laws and now the normative and institutional framework should be developed so that the legislation adjusted to the EU standards is implemented. The forum of Moldovan-Polish businessmen that was held within Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski’s visit to Chisinau on December 3 brought together representatives of 18 Polish companies and 100 Moldovan companies.
