Moldova to offer humanitarian aid to Greece

More than one hundred Moldovan carabineers will contribute to fighting fires in Greece. The Government adopted a decision to that effect at an extraordinary meeting on August 27. According to Justice Minister Vitalie Parlog, Moldova will dispatch 100 carabineers accompanied by medical officers and other specialists who will participate in liquidating the consequences of the wildfires, as agreed with the authorities in Athens. PM Vasile Tarlev requested that the respective personnel be trained and prepared so as to cope with the tasks. The fires that broke out in Greece last week killed more than 60 persons. Arson has been blamed in several cases.
