Twelve persons involved in the project “Decent work for young people – improving the social-economic situation of the young people in Moldova by empowering the youth and civil society” during a week exchanged experience with Dutch specialists in the area of protection and promotion of young people’s employment rights.
In a news conference at IPN, Angela Ciocarlan, head of the Ungheni Association for Children and Youth “Faclia”, who is the national coordinator of the project, said that in the Netherlands they had meetings with representatives of different youth organizations and the head of the youth organization of the Dutch trade unions. There were laid the foundations of future cooperation relations for learning good practices in youth employment. “We are convinced that the gained experience will be useful and will be adjusted to the needs of the Moldovan young people,” stated Angela Ciocarlan.
Daniela Darzu, program coordinator at “Faclia”, said the experience exchange is useful not only because knowledge is accumulated, but also because they can see the achieved results. “We decided to learn how the youth employment mechanisms works and how the social-economic rights of the young people in the EU member states are respected,” she said.
Coordinator of the project’s mobile team in Falesti district Liliana Lungu said she was impressed by the experience of the Netherlands. “We were surprised to see how well the young people with disabilities are treated and how much the youth organizations are helped. Every young person enjoys increased attention. The organizations become involved in solving social inclusion and employment problems faced by young people,” she stated.
Victor Ambroci, head of the Calarasi Consultative Council on Decent Work for Young People, said that the Netherlands has unique experience in the area of individual youth employment. The young people there work only when they are able to and emphasis is put on the quality of work, not volume. The large companies adjust their services to the needs of the young people, etc.
The Social-Economic Agenda of the Youth is a component part of the project “Decent work for young people – improving the social-economic situation of the young people in Moldova by empowering the youth and civil society”, which is implemented by “Faclia” in partnership with the Dutch foundation CNV Internationaal and the National Confederation of Trade Unions, with financial support from the EU.
